We are looking for a compassionate and highly organised Welfare Support Advisor to join our team, supporting clients who have experienced life-changing injuries or medical negligence. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced welfare benefits professional to provide expert advice, practical support, and reassurance to those navigating complex benefit systems during challenging times.
In this role, you will play a vital part in helping clients access the financial support they are entitled to, working closely with our legal, rehabilitation, and wellbeing teams to deliver a seamless, high-quality service. Main Responsibilities:
- To liaise with clients who have sustained serious injuries or have been impacted by medical negligence and identify potential claims that can be made to the DWP and/or local authority benefits.
- To provide guidance to clients on navigating the benefits system and where needed practical support in making the applications.
- This will be by telephone or Teams. The successful applicant will spend much of their day using a computer.
- Manage own diary and identify priorities each day.
- Deal with a large volume of enquiries relating to Benefit queries from clients and internal stakeholders.
- Some of our clients are children and the role will be helping parents navigate benefits available to them.
- Keeping appropriate written records of advice and support given. This is a key aspect of the role as accurate note are imperative. These will be written our Proclaim system so previous experience of working on company systems is beneficial.
- To collaborate with the legal team and in house Rehabilitation and Wellbeing Team to ensure high quality customer service.
- Develop training and written materials to support colleagues in providing accurate advice to clients.
- Identifying and facilitating other signposting/ support opportunities where appropriate.
- Contribute to best practice initiatives within client rehabilitation.
- Support Charities and Partnerships Team attending events when asked to do so.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Significant experience of providing detailed benefits advice and supporting individuals within this area.
- Excellent IT skills as all work is computer based.
- Very well organized and used to planning own diary and workload.
- Active listening skills
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car.
