Trevor secured a settlement of over £10m for a young boy born with cerebral palsy. Trevor had worked tirelessly on behalf of the child and his devoted parents, in a bid to secure the family’s rightful settlement and enable provisions that they desperately needed to support their son’s care. This was a tragic case which meant that the child in question was given a reduced life expectancy, as a direct result of the negligent care he received.

Danielle represented a client in imminent danger of losing her leg due to GP negligence. The client had an extensive period of pain and suffering in her leg that appeared suddenly, and the skin on her foot began to peel away. She was incorrectly diagnosed on several occasions with musculoskeletal issues and fungal infections. Thankfully, the clot was positioned and stuck behind her knee. If it had become dislodged the client would likely have died. When the clot was finally diagnosed the vascular surgeons were able to save her leg, but the risk of amputation remained high.

Jonathan Makin, a 20-year-old man, had his life permanently changed by a devastating road accident. The crash left him with severe spinal fractures and a broken collarbone, resulting in partial paralysis. His condition meant he faced a lifetime of challenges, including a gradual deterioration in his shoulders and the likelihood of needing increased care from the age of 50. Heartbreakingly, his life expectancy was reduced by four years.

Following the accident, Jonathan underwent surgery to stabilise his injuries, but he developed infections that left him in constant pain and struggling with fatigue. For nearly two years, his condition worsened until a second surgery finally brought some relief. Despite this, the impact on his physical and emotional wellbeing was profound.

He received compensation of £2.2 million at the time, to support him through the many challenges ahead. Of this, £170,000 acknowledged the pain and suffering he endured. In addition, he was granted annual payments to cover the cost of his care – £25,000 until the age of 50, increasing to £50,000 thereafter – to ensure he could live with dignity and support.
