Fletchers Group is seeking a proactive and commercially minded M&A Assistant Manager to join our dynamic Finance team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering our ambitious inorganic growth strategy, with a particular focus on bolt-on acquisitions across the Group.

As part of our dedicated M&A team, you’ll support the end-to-end deal lifecycle, from initial assessment through to deal completion. You’ll collaborate with external advisors, sellers and internal departments, helping to assemble and manage cross-functional project teams, and provide guidance on M&A best practices and issues as they arise.

Main Responsibilities:

Strategy & Leadership

  • Work within M&A team to deliver transactions
  • Prepare strategic market analyses on new and existing areas of interest, target identification and origination
  • Manage overall deal process end to end, with appropriate support from Director of M&A
  • Build external networks and partnerships to enhance our brand and reputation

People Management

  • Support M&A activity, bringing together project teams as appropriate
  • Attend sessions with potential targets, representing Fletchers in a positive manner
  • Model Fletchers values across workload

    Technical

  • Provide advice and guidance on all certain M&A issues (relative to experience)
  • Plan for and support post-deal integration
  • Manage diligence process, supporting around data analysis as required
  • Prepare working capital analyses to support Equity Value adjustments

Essential Skills and Experience: 

  • Good intellectual and academic background that underpins financial analytical abilities
  • Capable of working successfully with cross functional leaders
  • Experience of working in SME/mid-market deals, with awareness of transaction end to end process
  • Ability to get involved in all stages of transaction
  • Ability to build and maintain networks of external stakeholders
  • Ability to role model good practice
  • Technology literate
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to form positive working relationships with a wide variety of team members
  • Strong analytical skills
