Medical Law Services have a fantastic opportunity to join our growing team.

This role is central to MLS’s commercial growth and market positioning. You will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, building strong and lasting relationships with external clients, and helping to shape how MLS delivers value across the medico-legal sector.

As a trusted partner to both clients and internal teams, you will contribute to the ongoing development of our service offering, ensuring it meets market needs while supporting the wider vision of MLS as the sector’s most trusted business partner.

Main Responsibilities:

Client Growth & Relationship Building

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients by understanding their needs and delivering excellent service.
  • Represent MLS at client meetings, events, and industry networking opportunities to raise brand awareness and identify growth opportunities.
  • Support the development of tailored proposals and presentations that showcase MLS’s value and help secure new business.
  • Act as a key contact for client accounts, helping ensure a smooth, responsive, and professional experience.

Business Development & Commercial Contribution

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through research, lead generation, and market insight.
  • Work with the MLS leadership and finance teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and tracking of commercial performance.
  • Contribute to achieving business development targets, including revenue and client growth.
  • Help maintain accurate records of sales activity, client interactions, and contract status.

Performance Insight & Operational Support

  • Support monthly reporting processes by providing insights on business development activity, client feedback, and market trends.
  • Collaborate with operations and service delivery teams to ensure client expectations align with internal processes.
  • Use feedback and data to suggest improvements to client journeys and ways of working.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement across the team.

Innovation, Compliance & Development

  • Stay informed about industry developments, client needs, and emerging tools (including AI) that could add value to MLS services.
  • Support compliance with regulatory and professional standards, working with internal teams as needed.
  • Take an active role in your own development and contribute positively to team growth and shared goals.

Essential Skills and Experience: 

  • Proven experience in a business development, client relationship, or commercial leadership role
  • Experience in medico-legal services, legal sector, or professional services
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Experience developing proposals and leading commercial discussions with clients
  • Commercially minded with a track record of achieving business growth and financial targets
  • Comfortable working across departments and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory considerations in a legal or medical setting
  • Understanding of process improvement and digital transformation (including AI tools)
