Fletchers Solicitors Ltd have a fantastic opportunity to join our growing Team.
In the role you would be managing a caseload of pre and post issue files working to a case settlement target, meeting a fee target and to issue cases for reasons of liability or quantum.
The role would also require you to assist the Team Leader in the successful running of the team by providing added supervision and training when needed.
Caseload levels are expected to amount to no more than 100 files at any one time. These will be a mixture of MOJ and standard fast track cases, consisting of pre and post issue cases potentially involving multiple medical reports. The injuries and the overall value of the claim will be up to the current fast track limit of £25,000, although occasionally there may be cases where the value may tip over into the Intermediate track.
There will also be an element of business development in promoting our brands, by providing content and suggestions for our websites, and engaging in any promotions and business development initiatives where appropriate.

Main Responsibilities:
- Run a mixed caseload from inception to conclusion, involving pre and post issue cases, with some occasional fatality cases
- To liaise with clients whether via telephone, email or postal correspondence or by utilising the Fletchers App, or in person to give advice and take instructions
- Arrange medical appointments with appropriate experts and review medical reports with forensic detail, identifying any issues
- Instruct engineers where appropriate for vehicle inspections
- Review Police reports in forensic detail
- Taking statements from witnesses, usually by telephone but occasionally in person where appropriate
- To regularly review cases for liability and quantum, keeping them under appropriate review and keeping clients updated on the issues
- Review and take instructions regarding quantum and liability offers, paying particular attention to Part 36 offers
- Drafting court documents in a professional and appropriate way
- Instructing Counsel to attend hearings where appropriate
- Conduct own advocacy where appropriate
- Consider future losses where evident
- Attend team meetings when asked
- Attend training sessions when asked and when necessary
- Ensuring own issuing and fee targets are met
- Ensure chargeable time recording is accurate and proportionate
- Act with honesty and integrity at all times

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Qualified solicitor or Cilex or equivalent experience
- Significant experience of dealing with personal injury claims
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills, particularly with clients
- Excellent attention to detail
- Target Driven
- Confident in valuing injuries up to £25,000.00 and assessing liability risks
- Identifying cases that have the potential to be of intermediate track value
- Awareness of business needs and assisting with other teams within the department should the need arise
- Experience in dealing with more than one medical report and valuing multiple injuries is essential
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Advocacy experience
- As most of the claims will involve vulnerable road user claims (motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians), knowledge of appropriate caselaw and Highway Code is preferred
