The overall purpose is to support the ‘Estate Manager’ with maintaining effective Facilities Maintenance Service Delivery at all offices across the North West in the FSG Estate.

Main Responsibilities for the role:

  • Deal with all proactive and reactive office maintenance issues at each office across the North West, to include basic repairs, decoration and associated general duties.
  • Complete all scheduled PPM/H&S office safety checks at each office (Electrical, Gas, Water, Lighting, Fire and Intruder Systems) and liaise with Estate Manager and Outsourced FM Partner to keep computer-based PPM logs updated and ensure all PPM check data records are up to date.
  • Deal with routine and preventative maintenance requests as scheduled in the maintenance calendar and logged via the Support helpdesk, keep the requestor updated as to progress and expected completion, and close off completed tickets.
  • Proactively maintain the appearance of all buildings leased or owned by the company suggesting improvements where necessary.
  • Liaison with external contractors (decorators, electricians, plumbers etc) to provide access and monitor them whilst on site where the job is too large/comprehensive/regulated to be dealt with in-house by the FM Technician.
  • Ad-hoc delivery of documents, files, office equipment and supplies between offices when required i.e. courier for urgent documents to court etc (Van available for daytime use).
  • Ad-hoc occasional driving duties for Management and Directors.
  • Management and administration of Physical File store and Office Basement for equipment and file retrieval and return upon request.
  • Assist Estate Manager and Director of Integration with Office Refurbishment projects and the relocation of staff between offices.
  • Responsible for building security, liaising with Security Companies and Key Holding duties.
  • Commute to Southport Office is essential.
  • Role will include deputising for the Estate Manager in their absence.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Clean Driving Licence.
  • Knowledge of and experience in Building Maintenance: (Electrical, Gas, Water, Heating systems) and repairs, PPM’s and H&S issues.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, ideally gained in a similar role.
  • Excellent, effective communication and people skills with the ability to recognise and manage sensitive situations appropriately.
  • Ability to work independently and to prioritise and manage a workload which requires supporting the Estate Manager and Director of Integration with different needs at different times.
  • Ability to use a computer with Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) skills
