Helping you build your career
Our Recruitment Process
Here’s how it works:
Finding a Job
Start by finding a job that interests you. Our vacancies are advertised on our website and on Indeed.com. Each advert will detail the responsibilities of the role (job description) and the knowledge, skills, and experience we’re looking for (person specification).Applying for the role
Follow the instructions on the platform where you found the job to start your application. If you're applying on Indeed, you'll be asked to enter your contact details, log in, and upload your CV. Indeed also offers tools to help you build a CV if you don’t have one ready.
Once submitted, your application is sent to our Applicant Tracking System (ATS). If you have your CV ready, this process only takes a few minutes!

The Fletchers selection process
Our selection process is straightforward and designed to help you showcase your abilities:
-
Initial Selection for Interview
Either the hiring manager or one of our recruitment team members will review your application, comparing your skills and experience with the person specification and job requirements.
If there’s a high volume of applicants, we might arrange a brief informal phone chat before deciding on interviews.
-
The Interview
Interviews may be conducted online (usually via Microsoft Teams) or in person at one of our offices. We strive to make these as relaxed and informal as possible.
You might be asked to complete a task or test related to the role. If this is the case, we’ll let you know beforehand – no surprises!
-
After the Interview
After the interview, our hiring managers take time to consider all candidates. This process can take a few days, so don’t worry if you don’t hear back immediately.
A second-stage interview might be scheduled to clarify certain points or introduce you to other team members.
Once interviews are complete, we’ll inform you of our decision, whether we’re making you an offer or if you weren’t successful this time.
If you’re not right for this role, we may keep your details for future opportunities.

What to Expect from a Fletchers Interview
We want you to feel comfortable and perform at your best during our interview process. Here’s what you can expect:
Friendly Atmosphere: We’ll try to put you at ease as much as possible.
Dress Code: We’re generally informal, so you don’t need to wear a full suit unless you want to.
Panel Interviews: At least two Fletchers colleagues will be involved – we never conduct 1:1 interviews.
Relevant Questions: All questions will relate directly to the job description and person specification. No quirky or trick questions!
Time to Think: We’ll give you plenty of time to answer questions. Take your time to think before you respond.
No Surprise Tactics: We don’t use any unexpected scenarios or surprise tasks just to see how you react.
Your Questions: It’s a two-way process – we want you to feel that Fletchers is the right fit for you too. Take the opportunity to ask us anything that will help you make an informed decision.

To help us make sure we understand what you could bring to Fletchers:
To make sure we fully understand your potential and how you can contribute to Fletchers, consider the following:
Be Clear About Your Experience: Don’t assume we know what you did at a former employer or how their processes work. Clearly explain your role and responsibilities, and why they’re relevant to the position you’re applying for.
Relate Your Experience to the Role: Spend some time before the interview thinking about how your knowledge, skills, and experience align with the person specification and job description.
Prepare Specific Examples: Have specific examples ready that demonstrate your experience and achievements related to the person specification. This will help you answer questions more confidently and avoid scrambling for responses during the interview.
